Bounty of the Harvest, October 2019

It has been quite some time since we have been able to host events, but these are among our favorite of the services we provide. Here's a recap of the last event we organized.

Back in October 2019 we had incredible weather and the atmosphere at the beautiful Tiber Canyon wedding venue could not have been more lovely.

More than 140 guests, food purveyors and farmers assembled to celebrate local food and recognize the importance to support and grow our local food system.

SLO Provisions restaurant and their chef Sam did a magnificent job with the food preparation.

Niner Wine served their own wine as well as donated Saucelito Canyon wine. The Whalebird Kombucha Locals Only special blend for the event was a big hit.

The Jujube ice Cream served by Doc Burnstein’s, tastes of Manzanita Manor Port style wine and SLO Roasted coffee were a fitting finish to the meal.

A number of the SLOPE artist pieces were sold. They were beautifully displayed on easels under the lights.

We are grateful to Tiber Canyon Ranch for hosting our event, serving their olive oil and balsamic vinegar as well as giving a tour to the those who were able to arrive early.

Special mention to Erin Primer, Food Service Director at San Luis Coastal School District for her inspiring words about what she has accomplished to bring local fresh and and more healthy food into the school lunch program.

Watch one of the great media stories that volunteer Charlotte made happen!

We were pleased to have the team from Fig at Courtney’s House to provide service for the meal and cleanup. Check out their Cafe in Templeton.

See the full program attached for a list of all of our wonderful purveyors, farmers, producers and donors!

Again, special thanks for SLO Provisions for their assistance with planning, preparing and serving the terrific local food.
